A bit about me

I am currently studying Software Engineering at the University of Jeddah. My main interests are backend systems, databases, and web development. I also enjoy working on projects that involve data analysis and problem solving.

Over time, I have worked on technical and student led projects that helped me improve both my technical skills and the way I communicate with others. I like learning by building, and I care about writing software that is organized, reliable, and easy to work with.

Mueenk - Hospital Prescription Refill System

A prescription refill management system requested by King Abdulaziz Hospital to streamline patient–pharmacy workflows.

Problem and Role

The hospital needed a reliable system for patients to request prescription refills without repeated in-person visits, reducing wait times and administrative burden on pharmacy staff.

What I worked on
  • Developing a prescription refill management system requested by King Abdulaziz Hospital to streamline medication refill requests.
  • Designing and implementing the backend architecture using Node.js and Express, including REST API endpoints for prescription processing.
  • Building and optimizing the PostgreSQL database schema for storing patient requests and medication records.
  • Collaborating within a development team to design system workflows and ensure reliability for real world hospital use.

TDP-43 Gene Knockout Transcriptomic Analysis

A bioinformatics research project analyzing RNA-seq data from TDP-43 gene knockout experiments on Chromosome 21, conducted through the KAUST Academy program.

Problem and Role

Understanding the transcriptomic effects of TDP-43 gene knockout required processing raw sequencing data through a complete bioinformatics pipeline - from quality control to differential expression analysis.

What I worked on
  • Designed and executed the full RNA-seq analysis pipeline
  • Performed quality control and data preprocessing
  • Ran transcript quantification using Salmon
  • Conducted differential expression analysis with DESeq2
  • Created visualizations for biological interpretation

Film Reviews Website

A full-stack web application for displaying and browsing movie reviews, built as a personal project to practice end-to-end web development as a part of the Web Development course.

Problem and Role

Wanted to build a web application from scratch - handling backend routing, dynamic content rendering, and responsive design - to solidify full-stack development skills.

What I worked on
  • Built backend routing and API structure
  • Implemented dynamic UI with EJS templating
  • Designed and styled a responsive layout
  • Deployed a public demo
